WHAT IS SMART CLASS?
Educomp's smartclass™ is a technology-oriented initiative for schools. It provides tools and content for interactive, self-paced learning by students, as well as rich-media presentations for teacher-led classroom learning.
Educomp's smartclass™ modules supplement resources such as textbooks. The modules cover important topics suitable for exposition using rich media. Additionally, there are interactive elements that students can use to check their understanding of topics covered in the classroom. Teachers may also include their own learning materials for student use.
Educomp's smartclass™ program helps schools integrate technology into the daily lives of teachers and students within classrooms, significantly impacting teaching and learning during academic sessions. The program enables teachers to use digital resources such as graphics, animations, 3D images, and video clips. This results in a completely new multisensory learning experience for students, helping them improve academic performance. Content consists of sound and visually rich curriculum resources mapped and customized to the school's Scheme of Work. Classrooms are equipped with interactive electronic whiteboard systems, ceiling-mounted LCD projection systems, and PCs connected to a dedicated Smart Class Knowledge Centre within the school campus through a structured Ethernet network.
A trained Programme Administrator is deployed by Educomp to ensure real-time technical support and training for teachers. The Knowledge Centre is equipped with a vast library of digital resources mapped to the school syllabus. It has been created to provide teachers with resource material tailored to their distinctive needs and teaching styles. The vast repository of curriculum-based digital content developed and aggregated by Educomp is available for teachers to use in smart classrooms. Teachers utilize digital resources such as animations, video clips, and simulated models during their 35-40 minute classroom periods to teach specific topics, enabling a multisensory learning experience for students.
